| The conference in Denmark was organised to give chance to “old hands” to reconnect but also had a strong focus on the new generation of strawbalers and gave them chance to learn about strawbale building through wokshops and “summer of building.” The main theme of the conference was "Education - the next generation of eco-builders". The conference started by two convoys collecting participant from different countries across Europe and visiting sites of interest to strawbalers. The two convoys converged in Friland, Denmark. The conference also offered workshops on cob and rammed earth, composting toilets, solar hot water, passive solar design, and other complementary systems. About 100 people participated in the conference and among guest were Matts Myhrmann and Judy Knox. The European networking E-mail list was founded after this conference planting the seed of future European sbb network. |
